The cozy coastal village of Ravda is situated in South Bulgaria, 30 km from Bourgas, 3 km from Nessebar and 5 km south of Sunny Beach, St.Vlas and Elenite.
The holiday tourist base is concentrated in 15 hotels, holiday houses and private lodgings, comfortable and functional furnished, which offer a full value rest at reasonable price. There are numerous children’s and youth camps.
There is in the center of Ravda a building with fitness, library, post office and health centre. There are around taverns, restaurants and beer-houses, offering different types of cuisine and fish specialties.
HISTORY
During communism, the Ravda area was the site of youth and student summer camps. While some camps continue to function despite the severe cutback in state support, others are undergoing privatization or restitution. In recent years, the town has experienced a building boom by picking up overflow business from nearby Nessebar and Sunny Beach as well as catering to budget tourists from the former Soviet Union. It is cheaper to stay here than in nearby Sunny Beach or Nessebar.
NATURE
The beach is covered with fine and light sand. There are on the beach life-guard, umbrellas, chaise lounges… The water slide is located on the southern part of the beach. Still, it is a restful relaxing place surrounded by a pastoral landscape of farmlands and vineyards.
TRANSPORT
A regular transport connects Ravda to other resorts in the region. A bus run every 40 minutes to Bourgas and every 20 minutes to Nessebar and Sunny Beach. You can travel to the old Nessebar by mini-train. Taxis to/from Nessebar and Sunny Beach may be the best option. Ravda is a kilometer east of the main road so even if buses coursing the highway don't pull into town it's not that much of a walk.
