From its establishment until now at the stage of the theatre "Salza i Smyah" have been staged hundreds of plays from the Bulgarian and the world theatrical classics.
The theatre is housed in a small but extremely cosy building just off the Perlova River in Poduene - a neighbourhood in the centre of the city. Over the 10 years of its existence over 800 reviews have been published about the theatre in both Bulgarian and international periodicals.

In 1890, in small Bulgaria, situated on the crossroad between
the East and the West, with its unstable political and economic position, an opera theatre was born that becomes a cradle of talents giving ground to the world to start speaking about the Bulgarian Opera School.
